Some time ago, I came across an article about Ashton Kutcher and the investments he has made in upcoming tech start-ups. My first thought was: How cool would it be to get someone like him onboard with Intraboom?!
Turns out the “coolness” of having someone like Ashton as an investor in your company is not so obvious to everyone.
I brought up my new discovery on Ashton’s investment strategies to Intraboom’s current angel investors.
“Hey, did you know that Ashton Kutcher invests in tech startups?” My statement was met with a blank stare.
“Wouldn’t it be great if someone like him wanted to invest in Intraboom?” Continued blank stare. Followed by, “Why?”
Apparently, the professional investor philosophy is that “money is just money.” Whether or not it comes form a “cool” source doesn’t matter. Okay, I get that.
